When is the railing issue to spiral stairs going to be sorted out. I had brought my problem to Jacks attention a few weeks ago and was told that this would be most likely sorted out in this hotfix….It hasn’t as yet and my spiral stair still doesn’t have hand railing to the inside edge.

    also
I have made mention on numerous occassions about having the ability to
offset panels in the wallbuilder as well as rotate. alot of walls these days are made up of rotated panels with a staggered offset which the builder cannot provide.

    also
Downpipe in accessories folder still doesn’t match the DP that is provided in Roofbuilder. One has storey sensativity the other not. The two plan symbol not the same.

I keep waiting each hotfix and my anticipation is some what deflated when these issues are never addressed.

    John Steen.

    Hi John,

We fixed the issue with the spiral stair for the recent hotfix.

Unfortunately your file has highlighted a new issue that occurs only when the stairs are mirrored. Remove the mirrored flag from the stair objects, change the reference line to the opposite side, and re-model the stairs. You can then successfully place railings one either side of the spiral stair. I apologize for the inconvenience.

With regards to your other requests, I’m sorry that they haven’t already been implemented. We currently have over 300 requests in our database. and we’ll be aiming to implement many of these for the next version of ArchiCAD. User requests are important to the continuing development of the tool, but of course we can’t do them all. To help us prioritize requests we consider the following factors:
    • How many people are affected?
    • What effect will the enhancement have on product quality? (Is it a major improvement, essential new functionality, user friendly etc.)
    • How long will it take us to implement the changes? (In general we prefer to implement several smaller enhancements rather than spend all our resources on one improvement.)
    • Is there an existing work-around, and if so how easy to apply?

So, fingers crossed, at least one of your requests may make it for the next version of ArchiCAD.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

Do you anticipate releasing a hotfix for the Roof Builder problem that I wrote about on Feb. 21?

    Thank you,

    Michael

As Jack previously mentioned it is scheduled for the next hotfix and we have yet to set an exact date for this. Hotfixes are normally about every 3 months. Rest assured, there will be a solution.
