Viewing Wall Frames from the Exterior Side
Posted by Josh on June 29th, 2009 filed in Tip of the Week, Wall FramingThe orientation the composite skins are displayed in the Options > Element Attributes > Composites… palette (above) is the same orientation that these skins will be displayed in the elevated frame view (below).
To display the exterior side of a wall in the elevated frame view, make your composite so that the exterior skin is at the bottom of the composite settings display, and your interior skin at the top.

Door Opening Orientation on Schedules
Posted by Josh on June 22nd, 2009 filed in Door and Window Builder, Tip of the WeekBy default, ArchiCAD Doors and Cadimage Tools DoorBuilder Doors show opening away from you in the Cadimage Tools Door Schedule.
If you want the Interior Doors to show opening towards you in the Schedule, you can change the settings of the Door so that it Opens to the Exterior.

NOTE: As exterior doors are always viewed from the outside of the building no change is required for these.

Creating a Winder Stair
Posted by Josh on June 15th, 2009 filed in Stair Builder, Tip of the WeekUsing Cadimage Tools StairBuilder you can easily make a 180o winder stair. Place a straight flight, change your flight type to winder and place your winder element.
Select the reference line end node, drag it in a circular motion to new position (use the tracker for accurate placement) for angle adjustments use the top node and set the Flight Turn Angle to 180o.
Open the settings of the winder and set the Number of Treads to achieve your desired winder number.

Site Updates!
Posted by Josh on June 9th, 2009 filed in WebsiteAs you may have noticed already, we’ve made a few changes to the Cadimage Tools website to make it easier to get into the site and to move around in it.
First, we’ve changed the way you login to the site.
Clicking on the Log In link on the top right will slide down the login form. Simply enter your email address and password and hit Login>>>.
Ticking the Keep me logged in on this computer box will make your computer remember your login so next time you visit the site, you’ll be logged in automatically.
Moving down to the bottom of the page, you can see our new Site Map. This will appear at the bottom of every page on the site(except for the Blog) so that you can easily get to where you want to go, right from wherever you are.

The Tracking curve tool allows you to produce forward tracking curves for 3 different vehicles(Articulated Truck, Rigid Truck, and Car). The objects are fully parametric and can be easily setup using our Icon-based interface.
Once you have the tracking Curve Tool, follow our quick tutorial video to see how to use it. This is available below, as well as in the Tutorials section of CadimageTools.com.
Registration with CadimageTools is free, and is the only requirement to download the Tracking Curve Tool.

Adjusting Wall Builder
Posted by Josh on June 1st, 2009 filed in Accessory Tools, Tip of the WeekQuick adjustments can be made to already placed Wall Accessories by simply selecting the accessory you wish to edit, then by selecting the outer most hotspot on the end of an accessory and choosing Stretch from the Pet Palette you can adjust the end angle of the wall, or by selecting the inner most hotspot and choosing Stretch from the Pet Palette you can adjust the length of the wall accessory regardless of where the ArchiCAD wall ends.
