Revision Manager 12.7 Released

Posted by Josh on January 20th, 2010 filed in ArchiCAD 12, Revision Manager

This is an update to the Revision Manager for ArchiCAD 12.

An issue was found that causes ArchiCAD to crash when linking a new revision cloud to an existing revision. Version 12.7 fixes this issue.

We recommend that all version 12 Revision Manager or Documentation Suite users upgrade as soon as possible.

Revision Manager Progress Report

Posted by Josh on September 29th, 2009 filed in ArchiCAD 13, Revision Manager

As you probably know, the BIG new development in ArchiCAD 13 is the completely new Teamwork system.

In most cases, making the Cadimage Tools work with this was manageable, as they either don’t touch Teamwork at all, or are only slightly affected by it (like the Door & Window Schedules).

Revision Manager, however, was already sitting pretty close to Teamwork and had required a lot of effort to get it to play nicely with ‘Teamwork 1′ in the first place. Most of this was in the area of who was allowed to do what, and when they were allowed to do it, so we relied pretty heavily on the much maligned ‘Exclusive Access Mode’ to get things done.

Now that v13 has rolled around, ‘Exclusive Access Mode’ has been shown the door and by extension, a lot of what Revision Manager was doing. To get it working again, we’ve had to re-think a lot of the core functionality of the tool and give it a lot of testing to make sure that it does what you would be expecting it to.

Consequently, it’s taken us a while longer to get it into a state where it is ready for General Consumption. We’re currently working through the final stages of Development and Quality Assurance, so we are expecting to bring you the finished product in the next fortnight.

We’ll be keeping you up-to-date via this Blog, and our Twitter and Facebook pages, so as soon as it’s ready, you’ll be the first to know.

Grouping Revisions by Release

Posted by Glen on March 9th, 2009 filed in ArchiCAD 12, Revision Manager, Tip of the Week

ArchiCAD 12 Revision Manager allows you to group revisions by Release.

  • Open the Revision Manager Dialog with the Cadimage – Revision Manager – Revision Manager… menu and click on the Edit Issue Button.
  • Check the Group Revisions by Release check box.
  • Then close the Drawing Issue Dialog by clicking the Update Issue Button

Here’s an example:

Four revisions have been done to this layout before it is transmitted.  Then another three revisions are done before it is transmitted again.

totw6 Grouping Revisions by Release

With Group Revisions switched off all of the revisions are listed independently.  But with grouping on, the first 4 revisions are all included as A which is transmitted, then the next 3 are grouped as B.

This way each transmittal of this sheet gets a separate Revision ID.

Custom Revision Clouds

Posted by Josh on March 2nd, 2009 filed in ArchiCAD 11, ArchiCAD 12, Revision Manager, Tip of the Week

When you change the cloud shape to a custom cloud, you get a bunch of adjustable hotspots. The number and position of the hotspots depends on the original shape of the cloud.

If you started with a rectangular cloud, you’ll get 4 editable edges.

tooltip001 Custom Revision Clouds

If you started with an L-shape cloud, you’ll get 6 editable edges.

tooltip002 Custom Revision Clouds

The exception to the rule is the elliptical cloud shape. If you choose an elliptical cloud, then change directly to a custom cloud shape, a large number of editable edges is generated.

tooltip003 Custom Revision Clouds

Normally this number will be more than you need, so first change the cloud to a rectangular shape. Then when you change the cloud to a custom shape it will have only 4 editable edges.

Deutsche Cadimage Tools herausgegeben!

Posted by Campbell on November 20th, 2008 filed in 3D Profiler, ArchiCAD 12, Company News, Key Notes, Landscaping Tools, Product News, Revision Manager, Stair Builder

German Cadimage Tools Released!

Posted by Campbell on November 20th, 2008 filed in 3D Profiler, ArchiCAD 12, Company News, Key Notes, Landscaping Tools, Product News, Revision Manager, Stair Builder

Cadimage Tools is proud to announce that from today five of the Cadimage Tools are available as localised German language versions.

The following ArchiCAD 12 Tools have all been released today available for immediate purchase and download:

  • 3D Profiler
  • Key Notes
  • Landscaping Tool
  • Revision Manager
  • Stair Builder

In conjunction with this release, the Cadimage Tools website has been completely overhauled and is also available as a localised website in German.

Translating, developing and maintaining Tools in multiple languages provides additional challenges to the development team but we believe the benefits of having local versions far outweigh these internal challenges.

At this stage our Online Support is still provided in English, however, we will monitor the demand from our German speaking customers and continually review our support offering.

We will be working with local Graphisoft Partners in Germany, Austria and Switzerland to promote this great occasion.
