Updates to the Help Center

Posted by Andrew on March 5th, 2010 filed in Support, Tools, Website

We’ve just added some handy new features to the Help Center:

  • Expandable sections.
  • Print entire document.

Expandable Sections

The introduction of expandable sections will make it easier to read the help center. As you read, expand a section for more information. Take a look at the documentation for the Wall Framing tool to see how this works.

Expanding Sections

We will be gradually implementing expandable sections into all the Help Center articles over the next few weeks.

Print entire document

Click on the Print button at the top right corner of the Help Center window.

Printer Icon

A Print Center window will appear. Click on the document you want to print and the whole document will be compiled ready for printing.

The Help Centre – Installation

Posted by Josh on January 26th, 2010 filed in Support, Website

The Help Centre isn’t just an online version of the Manuals for the Tools, it’s more like a Knowledge Base for everything about the tools. Whether you want to find out what was fixed in a certain version of the tools, how to set up and use Presets, activate your tools, or Download & Install them – the Help Centre has you covered.

The Installation section of the Help Centre walks you through getting the Tools onto your computer, from registration to logging in, then downloading and activating. Each page gives you step-by-step instructions on how to do it all so that you can get from Zero to One Hundred with as little hassle as possible.

Click Here to go there now, or just visit the Help Centre, and have a look at the ‘Installation section.

The Help Centre – Frequent Questions

Posted by Josh on January 14th, 2010 filed in Support, Tip of the Week, Website

When you’re struggling to get ArchiCAD or one of the Cadimage Tools to do what you want, do you ever think to yourself, “Surely somebody else has wanted to do this?”.

We sure do, that’s why we’ve created the Frequent Questions section in the Cadimage Tools Help Centre. It’s a repository of answers to questions we get asked a lot.

14012010_40230 pm

It will be expanded continuously based on feedback from you, our users, so if there’s anything you want to know how to do with the Tools, contact us (through the Online Support System or via email). Once we’ve got you sorted, if we think the solution will help others, we’ll add it to the Frequent Questions section to save everyone else some time.

As the list there is based on real questions from real users, it’s your best first-stop when looking for help with the tools.

Preparing for 2010…

Posted by Campbell on December 4th, 2009 filed in Company News, Website

It is now 5 years since we launched the Cadimage Tools Online!

In this time we have sold over 10,000 Tools and Upgrades and have attracted customers from far and wide. A big thank you is extended to all our customers.

We have big plans for 2010 and decided we should do a little “housework” in preparation for these plans.

This “housework” should only take you a minute or two to complete and will help us provide you with a higher level of service without the need to bombard you with emails!

In the ever increasing Online World we appreciate that constant emails may simply get overlooked. For this reason we have introduced two email classifications so you can choose which emails you would like to receive from us:

  • Monthly Newsletters – fairly self explanatory 12 emails a year summarising all our news
  • Promotional Emails – irregular emails drawing attention to promotional activity we are undertaking (for example our current 2-4-1 Promotion)

In addition to emails we provide a number of other communication methods that you can choose use, these are outlined below.

In addition to this we would also encourage you to supply us with some additional information regarding your company so we can provide better targeted material. This information includes:

  • Current ArchiCAD Version
  • Number of ArchiCAD Licenses
  • ArchiCAD Reseller (if listed as a Cadimage Tools Partner)

Simply logging in to the Cadimage Tools website will take you to where you can update and confirm these details. Even if you are happy with the current settings/information we need you to confirm them so we know you are happy!

In appreciation of your time and effort and to encourage you to confirm your information in a timely fashion we are offering an incentive! All those customers who confirm their details prior to Friday 18th December will go in to a draw to win one of 3 prizes of a Cadimage Suite of their choice.

Communication Methods

Aside from regular email contact we use other communication methods that may be more suited to you. These include:

Thank you once again for your business over the last 5 years and for taking the time to help us Prepare for 2010!

Interim Releases

Posted by Josh on November 26th, 2009 filed in ArchiCAD 13, Company News, Development, Support, Website

As we go through support tickets and emails, we often get reports of ‘issues’ in the tools that we need to patch up. Often this doesn’t take very long, but the process of fixing everything that has been reported takes time, as does getting the completed package properly tested and ready for release. We appreciate that in some cases, having to wait a month or two is just too long though, so that’s why we’ve introduced Interim Releases.

The Interim Releases will be issued much more frequently than the Official Releases so that you can get your ‘fix’ as soon as humanly possible. The interim releases will be given a basic check-over to make sure that they don’t do anything horrid to your ArchiCAD setup or your projects, so you can be confident in using them on production computers.

We’ll be working to get issues you report into an interim release as soon as possible, but sometimes we may not be able to fit all the fixes in before we make an interim release. You’ll be able to see which things are fixed in the Release Reports (in the Help Centre), and which are still outstanding. If in doubt, you can always just contact us (via support ticket, email, facebook, twitter, skype etc). At the moment, you can only download the latest available Interim Release for each tool, but we will be allowing access to the full history of all Interim Releases shortly.

To get an Interim Release, go to the Downloads page and click on Interim Releases from the sidebar on the left.

inter 1 Interim Releases

You’ll then see a grid of all the available Interim Releases. Simply click on the Windows or Apple logo to download the Windows or OSX files, and once the download is finished, you can install as normal (follow the instructions here if you’re unsure).

inter 2 Interim Releases

If you do encounter any problems while using an interim release, please let us know which one/s you are using when reporting issues.

Downloads Page Updates

Posted by Josh on November 26th, 2009 filed in Company News, Website

We’ve just made some pretty major changes to our Downloads page to make it not only easier to use, but to allow you to access even more than you could before. We’ve also added completely new Interim Release and Manual Installation sections to really help you get the most out of the Tools.

The Downloads page now has 4 options in the sidebar on the left, allowing you to access each section.

Current Releases

The Current Releases are the latest versions of the tools for the current ArchiCAD version. At the time of writing, this is ArchiCAD version 13, and the current releases are almost all version 13.1.

Anatomy of the Page

DLpage1 515x341 Downloads Page Updates

The Green area is the sidebar, which lets you choose which section you want to see. The Purple area indicate which Operating System version you have selected, and allows you to change it. The Blue area shows the tools or suites that you actually own. Tick the boxes on the left of any of the list items to include that in the download. The Yellow area is the tools or suite that you don’t own, but you can tick the boxes on the left of any of those to get a 30-Day free trial of them. Finally, the Red area is the Download button. This will start the download process.

The Interim Releases are explained here.
